I have a long wish list of art related books that I want to add to my twenty+ year collection and for my birthday earlier this month I was able to cross two of those books off my list. Once in awhile I come across an artist or designer whose work appeals to me on every level and Jeanne Lanvin of the House of Lanvin happens to be one of those designers. If, like me, you have a growing love of textiles and costuming, these two books will bring you hours of inspiration along with a bit of engaging history. Below are few photos from the books with links about the books/designers~I encourage you to check them out if interested.. :)

And if you happen to be a fan of the Brothers Quay, you'll be happy to know they have a new film premiering next month at MOMA and two other locations. To find out more about "Through the Weeping Glass" visit the Mutter Museum's site.
The annual Dia de Bloglandia online celebration is coming up...well it's two months away but we all know how fast the days are flying by. Back in 2009, Artist/Photographer Stephanie (Mango Studio) and Susanna (Susanna's Sketchbook) started this gathering as a way to share their love of the Mexican Holiday Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). This years event will take place on Nov. 1st and 2nd and anyone wanting share their own ofrenda on their blog is encouraged to do so. You can find out more about this by visiting Stephanie's blog.
That's it for now..I'll be away working on a small shop update and probably won't post again until Labor Day~See you then!
