I grew up on the Monterey Peninsula in California and aside from it's beautiful scenery and colorful history it is/was home to many artists and photographers like Ansel Adams, Edward Weston,Morely Baer, etc. Having a background in photography I'm partial to photographers one of which is Martha Casanave and whose work I admire. I was fortunate to win one of her "Coastal Pinhole" pieces in the annual Monterey Museum of Art's Miniature show one year (back when I use to include my pieces in the show). I had always loved her pinhole photographs and was also surprised to see that my husband has a portrait of his father, taken by Martha, hanging in the house. Her work is dreamlike and beautiful, well worth checking out.
