Two artists I've recently discovered have somewhat limited exposure online despite having rather prolific portfolios and shows behind them. I'll be keeping an eye out for their artwork as it seems to be essential to experience them in person. Performance artist and puppeteer Gisèle Vienne's latest work is entitled Teenage Hallucination where she incorporates photos, handmade life size dolls and sound to express hidden fears surrounding adolescence. The show just finished up in Paris and hopefully makes its way over to the States.
Paper creations by Anandamayi Arnold. Images c. Aya Brackett and brrowed from here.
Anandamayi Arnold is another artist whose work is difficult to find online but from what I've seen, it's quite elegant. Here is a video of the Berkeley artist creating paper dresses in celebration of the upcoming 75th anniversary of San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge.
Our Spring break is nearly over and it's back to a studio that needs to be cleaned. I'm a bit backed up on my doll work and emails to answer (my apologies!). Hope all is well with you~
