Greetings! I'm running a bit behind on listing the doll images for tomorrow's shop update but I thought I'd go ahead and post the ornaments tonight. As you can see I have just three that will be available (I ran out of time to finish the rest but I may have them available in Feb. as Valentine ornaments). These three are approx. 8" (from head to toe) and 5" wide from the widest part of their paper skirts. They were fashioned after my Doll "Brighid the Wind's Bride" that I made this past summer including the same decorative embossed paper that I used for her dress. They are not as elaborately decorated but do include tiny cutouts of butterflies, dragonflies, and leaves. I added crystal glitter to the bodice, head dress and accents on the dolls so that they give off just the right amount shimmer in the evening light, perfect for the Christmas tree. And their black slippers are coated in ultra fine black glitter (photos taken during the daytime so it's hard to see).
Each is holding a cotton ribbon (coffee stained and starched to hold it's shape) with the same quote by R. Tagore:
"Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky". Each doll hangs by a 4"ribbon that reads "Joyeuses fêtes 2009" (Happy Holidays in French), Du Buh Du Designs .
I'll be back Sunday morning with the dolls that will be in my shop update which starts at 1pm Pacific. Sorry for the delay but whenever it gets really cold here my hands do a number on me by splitting really bad. My hands look like I attacked a throny rose bush and the bush won. I have to wear gloves and go a bit slower..not very practical when working with silk, paper, a camera and a self imposed deadline :)
Hope you're having a great weekend ~ I'll see you Sunday~
